Dental Sterile Tech

 As a Dental Sterilization Technician at BayView Dental , you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and safety of our dental office. Your attention to detail and adherence to infection control protocols will be critical in creating a positive, clean and tidy environment for the team and the patients!

Your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Room Turnover:

• Prepare treatment rooms before and after each patient visit.
• Remove and dispose of used barriers, materials, and waste appropriately.
• Clean and disinfect surfaces, dental chairs, and equipment following established protocols.
• Restock supplies and ensure each room is fully equipped for the next patient.

Instrument Cleaning and Sterilization:

• Sort, disassemble, and clean dental instruments, handpieces, and equipment.
• Utilize appropriate cleaning agents and methods to ensure proper disinfection.
• Operate and maintain autoclaves and other sterilization equipment.
• Monitor sterilization logs and maintain records to ensure compliance with infection control standards.

Assisting Patients:

• Escort patients to and from the treatment areas, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Provide friendly and courteous assistance to patients (with a smile) always!
• Assist with seating and preparing patients for dental procedures when necessary and appropriate, as delegated by the clinical team.

Infection Control and Safety:

• Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and sterile working environment at all times.
• Regularly monitor and report any issues related to infection control or safety to the appropriate personnel.

• Previous experience as a Sterilization Technician is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Physical ability to lift and move potentially heavy equipment and supplies.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and prioritize the needs of the patients/office.
