DEPARTMENT COORDINATOR, UNIVERSITY STORES, SENIOR

As the Senior Department Coordinator, you’ll be a vital part of a collaborative, service-driven team that supports our University Stores operations and delivers an exceptional experience to students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Serve as the backup to the Customer Service Staff Specialist, ensuring cashiers provide timely, professional, and tactful service.
• Support cashier and customer service training, including money-handling and POS procedures.
• Manage administrative duties such as transmitting POS cash bags and house charge documents, maintaining office files, and preparing reconciliations and reports.
• Provide front-line customer service including answering calls, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries.
• Assist the Academic Apparel Manager with regalia programs during major University events, handling orders, vendor communication, pricing, deliveries, and customer inquiries.
• Support Duke Stores’ class ring and Custom Order programs, including customer consultations, art approvals, vendor negotiations, purchase orders, and payment collection.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accurate, timely processing of financial transactions.
• Model Duke Stores’ customer service standards and support training for the mystery shopping program.
• Operate POS registers as needed and assist with inventories for multiple store programs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily operations.
