Design Engineer

Our client is a national leader in the engineering and fabrication of steel and concrete structures for the electric utility industry, serving transmission, distribution, and substation applications. They are seeking a Design Engineer to lead the analysis and design of tubular steel transmission structures, working closely with customers, project management, and fabrication teams to deliver accurate, code-compliant designs from concept through construction.

What you'll do

• Analyze and design tubular steel transmission structures and associated products in accordance with project design criteria and applicable industry standards


• Review customer specifications and coordinate design revisions with project management, modeling, and estimating teams


• Prepare design calculations, cost estimates, and complete engineering documentation


• Communicate directly with customers and plant personnel to resolve technical questions and design ambiguities


• Review drawings for design conformance and perform quality checks on peer-designed work


• Support resolution of technical issues arising in fabrication and the field

What you'll need

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a background in structural design, or equivalent experience


• 5+ years of relevant design experience


• EIT required


• Proficiency with structural design software


• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively
