If you have a strong junior or young contemporary background, understand private label timelines and price points, and can manage a high volume of styles without losing your eye for product, this one is worth a look.


Now hiring a designer for a well-established private label apparel company with a strong junior and young contemporary women's business. They design and develop product at volume and speed, working directly with overseas factories on a fast-moving seasonal and monthly calendar. The team has a clear commercial point of view and a deep understanding of what the junior customer wants right now. This is a hands-on design role with real ownership across categories. You will take trend direction and translate it into commercial product, build tech packs, review samples, and stay in close contact with factories and cross-functional partners throughout the development process.



In Office 

RESPONSIBILITES 

  • Partner with the Senior Designer to build seasonal and monthly collections across non-denim categories from initial concept through final development

  • Research trends, silhouettes, color direction, fabric, and print relevant to the junior customer and translate findings into commercial product at the right price points

  • Create original CADs, flats, and colorways in Adobe Illustrator and build design presentations for internal reviews and customer meetings

  • Develop and maintain tech packs with clear construction details, keeping documentation accurate across a large number of active styles

  • Review samples and provide precise feedback on design, fabric, trim, color, and fit to ensure the product executes to intent

  • Work directly with overseas factories, Product Development, and Technical Design throughout the development calendar

  • Manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and make fast, clean revisions based on buyer feedback


REQUIREMENTS 


  • 5 to 7+ years of women's apparel design experience with a strong junior, young contemporary, or trend-driven RTW background

  • Private label or high-volume retail experience, with a solid commercial eye and an understanding of what moves at the junior level

  • Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills, with a strong grasp of garment construction, fabric, color, and fiT

  • Experience designing across multiple non-denim categories including knits, wovens, dresses, and soft bottoms

  • Comfort working directly with overseas factories and navigating a fast development timeline

  • Ability to manage a high volume of styles with speed and accuracy
