Position: Development Department Assistant
Program: Development, Marketing and Communications
Classification: Non-Exempt – Part Time Compensation: $23.00 - $25.00
Reports to: Development Department Manager
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Development Department Manager, the Development Assistant is responsible for assisting the Development Team with MV Community Services (MVCS) fundraising events and administrative responsibilities of the Development Department. This position is in-person, year-round, and is not eligible for a remote work arrangement. Preferred hours 10 – 20 hours weekly (may vary slightly seasonally).
Job Responsibilities (Essential Functions*):
- Assist with MVCS events including Electronics Disposal Day, Possible Dreams, Round the Vineyard Challenge, Vineyard Charity Golf Classic and other events created by the Development Team or that emerge within the organization, including but not limited to:
- Inventory and item procurement for event materials.
- Distribution of promotional flyers.
- Collaborating on Social Media campaigns.
- Staff support for day of event.
- Assist with fundraising campaigns including donation/gift entries into database and acknowledgment letter preparation.
- Assists with other administrative responsibilities of the Marketing and Development Department, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Able to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
- Ability to self-manage workload volumes and changing priorities in a team environment with a strong results-oriented focus
- Excellent communication skills including writing, editing and proofreading
- Willing to comply with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Donor Bill of Rights and Code of Ethical Principles and Standards; maintain confidentiality
- Available to work occasionally outside regular business hours
