Diesel Mechanic

Power Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a hardworking, career-oriented person of good character to fill a Diesel Mechanic position within our organization. 

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for, but not limited to:

· Inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and electrical trouble-shooting of diesel engines, transmission, brake systems, steering systems and cooling systems on heavy equipment and vehicles

· Analyzing equipment and vehicle malfunctions 

· Repairing malfunctions with proper solutions

· Dismantling and reassembling heavy equipment and vehicles using hoists and hand tools

· Cleaning, lubricating, and performing routine maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles 

· Adhering to all safety regulations

· The ability to life 75+ lbs.

· Using electronic diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting repairs

Requirements

This position requires:

· High school diploma or an equivalent; post-secondary training in diesel technology is preferred

· Basic math skills with a proficiency in geometry and algebra

· Ability to work independently 

· Excellent customer service 

· Effective communication skills

· Ability to read, comprehend, and utilize manufacturer manuals for heavy equipment and vehicle repairs

Candidate should be willing and able to learn, be dependable, and have a good work ethic. This position is fulltime and requires overtime. A candidate with non-essential abilities, such as welding certifications, or who has a mechanical or electrical background is preferred.

Employee will quickly learn the industry as they progress in their position. We focus on character and adaptability so the applicant must have a professional demeanor, be punctual, and a team player who is focused and self-driven.
