The Mechanic is tasked with the upkeep and repair of trucks, equipment, and machinery utilized in our waste management operations. This position guarantees that all vehicles and equipment function safely and efficiently by conducting diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance as required. The role demands technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out routine maintenance on diesel engines, which includes oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections.
• Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Fix or replace faulty components such as brakes, transmissions, steering systems, and engines.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and prolong equipment lifespan.
• Examine vehicles and equipment to ensure adherence to safety regulations.
• Keep precise service and repair documentation.
• Address emergency breakdowns as necessary.
• Maintain a tidy work environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification is preferred).
• Demonstrated experience as a diesel mechanic.
• In -depth knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred, if applicable).
• Excellent problem -solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Capability to lift heavy equipment and work under various conditions.
