The hours and location you’ll work in as a Diesel Technician with WM:

• Monday – Friday (Occasional Saturday)
• 2nd Shift
• We’re committed to offering you stable hours for the financial security and work-life balance you need.
• The normal setting for this job is a repair / maintenance shop at our St. Louis, MO hauling site.

Each day you’ll fix the trucks and equipment that service over 20 million customers across the USA. As a Diesel Technician, you can take pride in watching a truck roll out of the shop knowing your local community will be supported by your hard work. Our technicians have opportunities to grow their careers while working on equipment that requires a high level of skill and determination. You’ll use modern tools and procedures to deliver exceptional maintenance on diesel equipment and, at some locations, our growing fleet of CNG trucks.

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Perform safety checks on vehicles — the safety of every employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority.
• Complete required paperwork, document parts usage, and account for repair times.
• Support and collaborate with other technicians on project work as needed.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.

• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

   

What do you need to be considered for a Diesel Technician opportunity?

Qualifications may vary depending on the skill level of the position. Candidates may be considered for opportunities based on their relevant experience, technical knowledge, certifications, and demonstrated mechanical abilities.

• Relevant diesel, automotive, heavy equipment, or fleet maintenance experience
• A valid driver’s license
• Be over 18 years of age
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations

• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
