Dietary Aide at Senior Care Center

The Company: Meadowbrook Village Christian Retirement Community is a non-profit organization in Escondido that opened in 2009. We are licensed as a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) and as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and offer independent, assisted living, memory care services, and skilled nursing services.

The Dining Team: We have two separate kitchens: one for skilled nursing and memory care residents (in a shared building called Oasis) and one for all other residents and their guests. This position will work with our team in the Oasis kitchen. We are a small facility (19 SNF bed, 21 memory care beds), but due to important dietary orders and restrictions, this job is low-volume with high attention to detail.

Shift Availability:

• AM shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday through Friday

Job Description: We're looking for a compassionate and dependable individual to join our team in providing excellent service to our senior residents. The dietary aide will assist the chef/cook in plating & serving breakfast, prepping food for other meals as directed, washing & sanitizing dishes, and other related duties as assigned.

As with all other kitchen staff, the dietary aide is expected to follow all federal & state regulations and company policies & procedures. To excel at this position, the dietary aide should be detail-oriented, act professionally, communicate appropriately with fellow staff members, and enjoy the food service industry.

Qualifications:

• Able to pass a fingerprinted criminal background check (no prior convictions)


• Able to pass a health screening, TB test, and drug test


• Able to lift at least 40 lbs. and work on feet


• Able to bend, stretch, pull, push, etc. as needed for kitchen tasks


• Maintain great punctuality and attendance


• Available to work on holidays


• Able to comprehend English language sufficient for understanding written information such as labels & instructions and spoken communication from supervisor and co-workers
