Pointe Meadows Health and Rehabilitation is a 5-Star Medicare-rated skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility dedicated to providing exceptional care and service to our residents. We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and organized Dietary Manager to lead our dietary services department and ensure residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals in a safe and welcoming dining environment.
Position Summary
The Dietary Manager oversees the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local regulations while providing excellent nutritional services for residents. This role is responsible for food service management, staff leadership, regulatory compliance, budgeting, quality assurance, and resident satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the dietary department.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate dietary staff.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served according to physician orders, resident preferences, and therapeutic diet requirements.
- Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian, Nursing, and Interdisciplinary Team to meet residents' nutritional needs.
- Maintain compliance with CMS, state health department, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, meal presentation, and resident satisfaction.
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and food budget controls.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in care plan meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure department preparedness for surveys and regulatory inspections.
Qualifications
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred.
- Food Protection Manager Certification (ServSafe or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of dietary management experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
- Experience supervising and developing staff.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Proficiency with dietary documentation and food service software is a plus.
