Job Summary






Overview

Reporting directly to the leader of FP&A, this role serves as the primary finance lead for Accreditation and Certification Operations (ACO), Joint Commission’s largest business unit, while also directly leading and developing the organization’s finance business partners. This position will drive financial processes, while strengthening financial accountability and strategic partnership across the enterprise. Responsibilities






Key Responsibilities

     ACO Finance Business Partner Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecast, monthly performance reviews, and related financial planning processes for Accreditation and Certification Operations (ACO), ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and operational goals.
  • Serve as the senior finance business partner as part of the ACO leadership team, providing clear, actionable insights and recommendations on revenue, volume drivers, resource productivity, expense management, profitability, and overall business performance.
  • Create and present financial reporting packages, including variance analysis, KPI reporting, executive commentary, and performance narratives for senior leadership.
  • Develop robust financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, and business case narratives to support new product development, pricing decisions, productivity initiatives, capital investments, resource allocations, and other strategic opportunities.
  • Partner closely with accounting, operations, and cross-functional leaders to ensure financial accuracy, evaluate initiatives, build business cases, and drive disciplined follow-through on business commitments.
  • Drive business performance through proactive analysis of trends, risks, and opportunities, identifying actions to improve efficiency, financial outcomes, and operational accountability.
  • Establish a regular cadence of financial reviews with business leaders, translating complex financial and operational data into concise recommendations that support executive decision-making.

     Finance Business Partner Leader Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance business partner team, setting clear expectations, elevating capabilities, and fostering a high-performance culture centered on strategic partnership, accountability, and execution.
  • Define and lead the finance business partnering model across the organization, establishing consistent standards, tools, routines, and ways of working that improve the quality, speed, and strategic value of support provided to business leaders.
  • Partner with senior finance and operational leaders to strengthen financial discipline, align decision-making with enterprise priorities, and ensure business strategies are supported by sound financial insight and actionable recommendations.
  • Build team capability in executive communication, consultative partnership, financial modeling, storytelling with data, and translating complex business issues into clear recommendations for leadership.
  • Drive a consistent cadence of business reviews, performance monitoring, and follow-through across supported areas, ensuring risks, opportunities, and commitments are clearly identified and actively managed.
  • Oversee prioritization of team efforts and allocation of resources across business partner support needs, ensuring focus on the highest-value activities and strategic initiatives.
  • Hire, develop, and retain strong finance talent, proactively identifying capability gaps, succession needs, and development opportunities to build a scalable, future-ready team.
  • Lead continuous improvement in finance business partnering processes, reporting, and tools, improving forecasting accuracy, management insight, and the effectiveness of finance support across the enterprise.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point on complex financial and operational matters, helping leaders evaluate tradeoffs, make informed decisions, and execute against business priorities.

     Additional Responsibilities

  • Contribute to finance transformation and systems improvement efforts, including supporting strategic implementations planning and reporting enhancements in Workday, Adaptive Planning, and Power BI.
  • Support development of management dashboards and reporting tools, leveraging Excel and business intelligence solutions to improve visibility into financial and operational performance data.
  • Support FP&A Leader on special projects, strategic initiatives and other duties as assigned.








Requirements






Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or business partnering, including significant leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, monthly reporting, and financial modeling in a complex operating environment.
  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, with a track record of influencing decisions through strong analysis and effective communication.
  • Proven leadership experience, including direct supervision, mentoring, coaching, and development of high-performing finance professionals.
  • Expert-level Excel skills and advanced financial modeling capabilities required.
  • Experience with ERP and planning systems required; exposure to Workday Financials, Adaptive Planning, and Power BI strongly preferred.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to tailor messaging for finance, operational staff, and executive audiences.
  • Ability to quickly learn financial systems, processes, and business drivers, and translate that knowledge into practical tools and insights.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight.
