Direct Support Professional

Position Summary

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, helping them live meaningful, safe, and independent lives in their home and community. DSPs support daily living activities, community integration, health and safety, and individual goals in accordance with Maryland DDA regulations and the individual’s Person-Centered Plan.

• Baltimore City/County Maryland

*Our Main office is located in Elkton, Maryland.  For this recruitment, We are recruiting DSP's for BALTIMORE COUNTY!

What You Will Do

As a DSP, you will:

• Support individuals with daily activities such as personal care, meals, household tasks, and community activities


• Follow each person’s Person-Centered Plan


• Promote independence, choice, dignity, and respect


• Support individuals to participate in community activities, appointments, and social events


• Ensure health and safety at all times


• Observe, document, and report changes in health, behavior, or needs


• Complete daily documentation accurately and on time


• Follow agency policies and Maryland DDA requirements


• Report incidents, concerns, abuse, or neglect as required

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old


• High school diploma or GED


• Ability to pass Maryland background checks, including:
  
  
  
  • Criminal Background Check
    
  
  
  
  


• Reliable, responsible, and respectful


• Able to follow written plans and instructions


• Ability to maintain confidentiality (HIPAA)

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience working with people with disabilities


• Experience with Maryland DDA services
