LIFE, Inc. - Goldsboro is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Direct Support Professional on a full-time basis in Wilson, NC. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting clients with their daily living activities while fostering an environment of respect, dignity, and independence. The position provides a competitive compensation of $17.50 per hour, paid bi-weekly.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance and supervision to clients with personal care tasks, including dressing, bathing, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Support clients during meals, encouraging the use of family-style dining to promote social engagement and proper nutrition.
- Oversee and aid clients in managing housekeeping duties such as clothing care, household cleaning, and yard maintenance.
- Assist clients in meal preparation and administration of nutritional supplements, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely, adhering strictly to protocols.
- Support clients in following prescribed diets and using adaptive equipment as necessary.
- Implement established behavioral programs, maintain accurate data collection, and uphold all safety procedures.
- Facilitate clients’ participation in active treatment plans, including training objectives, data recording, and service goal implementation.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, communicating relevant client information as directed by supervisory staff.
- Transport clients safely in company vehicles for appointments and community activities.
- Supervise clients during community outings and involvement in educational and day program activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support operational excellence.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED minimum educational requirement.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
