Job Description Summary:

Summary:
As the Director of Hotel Sales & Catering, you play a pivotal role in shaping the success of the business. You are the strategic leader responsible for driving the performance, direction, and effectiveness of the hotel sales and catering divisions. Your vision and leadership ensure that every sales initiative aligns with the property’s broader business objectives, contributing directly to revenue growth and long-term success. In this high-impact role, you will oversee and coordinate all sales activities, from strategic planning to execution, ensuring seamless integration across departments. Your ability to lead with insight and precision positions you as a key influencer in advancing our market presence, maximizing occupancy, and elevating the overall guest experience.

 

 

Job Description:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of assigned department(s), ensuring alignment with company vision, financial goals, and service standards
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing leadership teams and team members to foster engagement, accountability, and professional growth
  • Lead the execution of company and departmental initiatives by converting strategic objectives into actionable plans with defined performance indicators
  • Monitor and manage budgets, resources, and operational performance metrics; drive cost-efficiency while maintaining quality and compliance
  • Serve as a key liaison with internal stakeholders and external partners to align departmental efforts with enterprise-wide priorities
  • Promote a strong guest service culture by designing and maintaining service standards and resolving escalated concerns with sound judgment
  • Drive revenue generation by developing and implementing strategic plans to attract and retain corporate, leisure, and group business.
  • Manage all sales activities including forecasting, prospecting, lead development, contracting, and account management.
  • Represent the properties at industry trade shows, networking events, and client meetings to enhance market presence and build strategic partnerships.
  • Lead internal reporting, financial analysis, and strategy sessions to adjust tactics and maintain competitive advantage in the market.
  • Oversee mining and prospecting of sales leads, external sales calls, and coordination of sales outreach efforts to maximize market penetration.
  • Oversee payroll and related administrative duties to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, if they apply to the position
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5 years of hospitality sales experience in a leadership or senior management role, preferable in a hotel or resort environment
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams, multi-unit operations, or high-impact projects
  • Exceptional decision-making, planning, and analytical skills with a track record of achieving measurable business goals
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication abilities to lead change and influence outcomes across all levels of the organization
  • Adept at navigating ambiguity and adapting leadership style to dynamic business needs
  • Proven ability to build and maintain inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance work environments
  • Results and people oriented with the ability to balance business goals with exceptional guest service standards
  • Skilled in budget management, workforce planning, and process optimization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiar with CRM tools and hospitality analytics platforms
  • Experience with Delphi and LMS preferred

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
  • Verify right to work in the United States

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 40lbs. at floor, knee, waist, and chest levels

  • Ability to communicate using in-person speech, radios, and telephone
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sound in person
  • Ability to distinguish between shades of color
  • Ability to use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
