Director of Childcare

Children's Aid Society is seeking a compassionate and motivated Director of Childcare to help launch the new Werner Early Learning Childcare Center opening in May 2025!

The Director of Childcare will oversee the daily management and operations of the Early Learning Childcare (ELC) program within the WELCC by managing staff, developing educational offerings, ensuring compliance with all regulations and maintaining a safe environment for children.

Essential Functions:

1. Design and implement developmentally appropriate educational programs for children of various ages.
2. Hire, train, supervise, monitor, and evaluate childcare staff, including teachers, assistant teachers, and childcare associates.
3. Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers regarding their child’s progress, addressing concerns, and holding regular parent meetings.
4. Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal childcare regulations regarding safety, health, and licensing. Maintain required licenses/certifications pertinent to employment. Participates in continuing education/training as necessary to remain competent and as required by regulatory agencies.
5. Create and manage the ELC center’s budget, including allocating funders for supplies, staff, salaries, and facility maintenance. Respond effectively to emergencies and manage crises within the center.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or a similar field.


2. Experience with Keystone STARS, NAEYC, and other agencies preferred.


3. At least 2500 hours of experience working with children.


4. Spanish fluency preferred
