Director of Consumer Lending

Angott Search Group is partnering with a $2B Pennsylvania credit union in the search for a Director of Consumer Lending.

This role provides strategic and operational leadership across consumer lending, with a focus on underwriting, servicing, operational performance, process improvement, automation, and team development.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with the AVP to execute Consumer Lending strategy and departmental priorities.
• Lead underwriting, servicing, and lending support functions to achieve operational and member experience goals.
• Monitor turnaround times, quality, productivity, approval trends, and other key performance metrics.
• Serve as the senior operational escalation point for complex lending issues.
• Ensure lending operations comply with policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and improve the member experience.
• Partner with Technology, Retail, Digital Banking, Risk, and other teams on operational enhancements.
• Monitor portfolio and operational trends and recommend improvements to lending performance.
• Support oversight of indirect lending, student lending, and strategic lending partnerships.
• Develop operational reporting and lead projects that support organizational growth.
• Coach and develop managers and lending teams while supporting succession planning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading consumer lending operations and high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of consumer lending, underwriting, servicing, regulations, and operational best practices.
• Experience leading process improvement, automation, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Ability to use operational data and metrics to identify business improvements.
• Experience with AI tools and a demonstrated ability to support responsible adoption and innovation.
