Seeking a dynamic Director of Emergency Services! Celebrating 27 years of excellence in healthcare, this state-of-the-art, 175-bed facility is located on a beautiful 74-acre campus in Palm Beach County. It boasts Accredited Chest Pain and Heart Failure Centers and is the only hospital in the Western Communities with a dedicated Pediatrics Department. Reporting to the CNO, this individual assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing, and managing the department and staff to assure quality service on a 24-hour basis in this very busy 23-bed ED.
•Manage daily activities for a 23-bed Emergency Department (13 Adult beds and 10 Pediatric beds)•Oversee Departmental/ Hospital process improvement activity, including timely collection of data, analysis, recommendations for improvement and evaluation of actions taken •Communicate regularly with Chief Nursing Officer to gather data, provide consideration, insure consistency in implementation of policies and procedures •Direct and guide personnel during emergencies•Effectively demonstrate communication and problem solving skills with peers, subordinates and superiors and fosters teamwork•Overall accountability/responsibility for maintaining appropriate staffing levels during all hours of operation within budgeted hours•Manage approximately 61 FTE’s•Understand the process of change and take the initiative in planning and implementing change•Monitor annual budget•Ensure department compliance with JCAHO and all applicable agencies (local, state and federal)
Requirements: •Must have Active FL RN License •BSN required, MSN preferred•BLS, ACLS, PALS and CEN certifications•Minimum 2-5 years as an ER Nurse, must have PEDS experience •2+ years of Management experience in a similar sized ED•Case Management course preferred
