Basic Function
The HUB Director leads all HUB sites and the staff who operate them, including HUB Managers, HUB Assistants, Community Resource Specialists, and Student Van Drivers. This is a full time, in person position. The HUB Director is accountable for converting HUB physical presence into course completions and graduations. That means growing the number of students inside each site’s service radius who attend regularly, ensuring those regular attenders are enrolled and funded, and moving them into the final stretch toward a diploma. The HUB Director also owns continuous improvement of return on investment at each site, testing new approaches to attendance, engagement, and completion, keeping what produces results, and discontinuing what does not.
The Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the HUB Director include but are not limited to: improving traffic to the HUB sites, student attendance, course completions, and resource management. Success in this position is defined by growth in site traffic and attendance, an increase in course completions among students served at the HUB, and effective management of the staff, materials, partnerships, and budget assigned to each site. Specific targets for each measure are established annually with the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
1. Site Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise HUB Managers, HUB Assistants, Community Resource Specialists, and Student Van Drivers across all assigned sites. Hire, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate staff. Hold consistent practice and a consistent student experience across every location.
2. Regular Attendance Growth: Grow the number of students within a five mile radius of each site who attend the HUB regularly. Direct outreach, community events, and re-engagement of inactive students. Work with enrollment, marketing, and business development to fill each site from its surrounding neighborhood.
3. Funded Enrollment: Ensure regular attenders are enrolled and funded. Partner with enrollment, records, and compliance staff to confirm documentation is complete and accurate, and monitor the gap between regular attenders and funded regulars at each site.
4. Graduation Pipeline: Identify HUB regulars who are three credits or less from graduation and help drive them across the line. Coordinate with the Mentoring and Instruction department, teachers, and advisors to remove academic barriers, and personally track this cohort at every site.
5. Student Support Coordination: Oversee the tiered support system delivered through Community Resource Specialists, including crisis response, basic needs, and community referrals, and hold the established response and documentation standards. Oversee food bank coordination and student transportation routes so that logistics never become the reason a student stops attending.
6. Data and Reporting: Build and maintain site level reporting on the key measures and on leading indicators such as unique monthly attendance, course pace, and re-engagement contacts. Report results to the Executive Director on a set cadence and use the data to reallocate staff time and resources.
7. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Run structured improvement cycles at the site level. Define the problem, state the measure and the target before the test begins, pilot at a single site,
set a review date, then scale what works and stop what does not. Calculate return on investment for each site using cost per funded regular attender and cost per graduate, and bring recommendations on staffing, hours, programming, and site viability to the Executive Director.
8. Community Partnerships: Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, food banks, workforce and service providers, and local agencies that expand what the HUB offers students at little or no added cost.
9. Facilities and Safety: Maintain safe, clean, and welcoming sites. Oversee site conditions, supervision coverage during operating hours, vehicle safety and compliance, and adherence to organizational policy at every location.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
