Director of Origination (Spec and Custom Home)
Peoplr is searching for a Director of Origination for our client, Snap.Build, in the mortgage origination and lending industry. This senior executive-level position is ideal for seasoned B2B residential construction lending professionals with deep expertise in mortgage banking, construction finance, and builder relationship management. The Director of Origination is a full-time, onsite role.
What Youâll Do (Key Responsibilities)
As a Director of Origination, you will ownâ¦
- Residential Loan Origination (B2B): Manage the full lifecycle of residential construction loansâfrom application through closing and secondary market saleâwhile meeting monthly production and performance targets
- Pipeline & Team Coordination: Collaborate with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to ensure timely funding and maintain consistent production volume aligned with compensation milestones
- Builder & Partner Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with residential builders, contractors, and developers while generating new business through networking and referrals
- Industry Engagement & Brand Representation: Represent the company at major trade shows and industry events, enhance brand visibility, and stay current on market trends and competitive landscape
- Reporting, Compliance & Performance Tracking: Maintain accurate pipeline and production records, ensure compliance with lending regulations, and regularly report performance metrics to leadership

Required Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of experience in mortgage banking, construction lending, or real estate finance
- Experience with residential construction loan products, including spec and custom home lending
- Demonstrated track record of successful loan origination with verifiable production history; proven ability to achieve and sustain monthly production volume targets of $20MM or greater
- Established network of relationships with builders, contractors, and real estate professionals; strong business development, networking, and relationship management skills
- In-depth knowledge of construction lending guidelines, underwriting standards, and secondary market operations
- Understanding of loan trading, loan servicing, and secondary mortgage market mechanics
- Familiarity with origination fee structures, basis point calculations, and construction loan pricing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills appropriate for executive-level interaction
- Proficiency with loan origination systems and technology platforms
- High school diploma
- Applicable NMLS licensing
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in finance, business administration, real estate, or related field
