Director of Outpatient Services

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Outpatient Services is responsible for overseeing Supreme Living’s Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Services and Mental Health Services including Intensive Outpatient programming, Outpatient Counseling, Education Groups, Individual Counseling, Court Ordered Treatment, and Assessment Services.

OVERALL MANAGEMENT:

• Oversee program development, coordination and marketing for all existing mental health and substance use disorder programs and services as indicated in the Contract for Services and applicable state WACs for the designated programs and services.
• Oversee the Employment & Housing Program as indicated in the Contract for Services per applicable state WACs for the designated programs and services.
• Manages, directs, coordinates, and supervises the delivery of services to consumers.
• Ensure compliance with program standards, program policies and procedures, and licensing requirements for all programs and services.
• Initiates program policy changes, as indicated.
• Oversee all necessary documentation, including the maintenance of medical records, and participate in State Compliance Reviews and Audits.
• Oversee all program admissions and discharges.
• Work in coordination with the CEO as the program liaison with community agencies.
• Seek new sources of grant and contract funding and prepare grants as needed.
• Other duties are assigned by the CEO to further develop programs and services within the company.

HUMAN RESOURCES OVERSIGHT:

• In cooperation with the human resources department participates in functions including hiring, supervision of professionals, evaluation, and termination of program employees as needed.
• Provide direct supervision for all assigned employees.
• Provide direct supervision for all contract mental health and substance use disorder program employees.
• Conduct performance evaluations, performance improvement plan development, staff appreciation, execution of disciplinary actions, and general support and guidance for all assigned employees.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:

• In cooperation with the CEO, prepare, monitor, and updates the community services budget annually.
• In cooperation with the CEO, assist in program billing functions.
• In cooperation with the CEO, maintain financial records as indicated.

DIRECT CLIENT CARE:

• Conduct both individual and group counseling with mental health and substance use disorder clients as needed, if appropriately licensed.
• Conduct assessment and intake activities with mental health and substance use disorder clients as needed, if appropriately licensed.
• Complete all charting activities associated with direct and indirect client care activities.
• Schedules client appointments for services as needed.
• Act as a mental health professional as needed or assigned if appropriately licensed.

TRANSPORTATION:

• Uses personal vehicle to travel to agency sites and non-agency locations.
• May drive residents to appointments and outings using agency vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a social services field.
• Master’s Degree in marriage and family therapy, counseling, social work or other applicable degrees, desirable.
• Licensure as a Substance Use Disorder Professional desirable.
• Licensure as a Mental Health Counselor desirable.
• Approved Supervisor credentials desirable for both Mental Health and SUD.
• Three years of management experience in a human service environment.
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License required or the equivalent if residence in Washington is new.
• Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software. Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read, research, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, clinical information, nursing laws and union contracts.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
• Proficient in English.
