Job Description - Director of Program Management

GTI is a contract manufacturing partner supporting customers in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, and industrial systems.

 

We fabricate custom designed, purpose-built enclosures and skids for our customers and perform mechanical and electrical integration in-house, delivering a true turn-key product to our customers. Our scope spans Engineering, prototype builds, through full production, requiring teams that can move fast, adapt, and execute with precision.

Position Overview


GTI Energy is seeking a Director of Program Management to lead strategic alignment between Business Development, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations teams across complex customer programs and production portfolios. This role is responsible for overseeing the program management organization while driving execution, customer satisfaction, operational readiness, and financial performance across the full program lifecycle.


The Director of Program Management serves as the executive leader responsible for aligning customer expectations with operational execution while maintaining full P&L accountability across assigned programs. This role combines strategic customer relationship management, operational oversight, and cross-functional leadership to ensure the successful launch and sustained execution of complex electro-mechanical manufacturing programs.


The ideal candidate has strong experience managing large-scale engineered-to-order (ETO), modular manufacturing, or industrial infrastructure programs within fast-paced manufacturing environments.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic Program Leadership
• Develop and execute the overall program management strategy supporting revenue growth, operational execution, and customer satisfaction
• Align Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations teams around business priorities and program objectives
• Drive operational excellence across the full program lifecycle from customer intake through production execution and delivery
• Support long-term business growth initiatives, customer retention, and strategic account development


P&L Ownership & Financial Performance
• Maintain full P&L accountability across assigned programs and production portfolios
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cost management, margin analysis, and financial performance tracking
• Monitor operational and financial KPIs to ensure programs meet profitability and delivery targets
• Support pricing strategy, change management, and cost recovery initiatives where applicable


Operational Oversight & Program Execution
• Oversee cross-functional execution of complex manufacturing programs and product launches
• Ensure successful transition from quoting and NPI phases into sustained production execution
• Drive accountability for schedules, milestones, deliverables, production readiness, and customer commitments
• Partner with Manufacturing, Production Control, and Supply Chain teams to ensure operational alignment and execution discipline


Customer Relationship Management
• Serve as executive escalation point for customer communication and strategic issue resolution
• Build strong long-term customer relationships across complex industrial and infrastructure programs
• Bridge communication between customers, technical teams, and internal operational leadership
• Support customer reviews, business updates, and executive-level program discussions


Program Governance & Phase Gate Management
• Oversee phase-gate processes, program governance structures, and operational readiness reviews
• Ensure every program has defined build plans, quality controls, risk mitigation strategies, and execution frameworks
• Improve program management standards, reporting structures, and operational consistency across business units
• Support continuous improvement of launch execution and customer onboarding processes


Capacity Planning & Resource Allocation
• Coordinate with Production Planning, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to align production capacity with customer demand forecasts
• Ensure labor, equipment, and operational resources are appropriately allocated across programs
• Support long-range planning for production growth, staffing needs, and operational scalability
• Prioritize organizational resources across competing customer programs and business demands


Risk Management & Roadblock Mitigation
• Identify operational, financial, supply chain, engineering, and customer risks impacting program success
• Escalate and remove organizational roadblocks impacting execution, launch timelines, or customer satisfaction
• Drive proactive mitigation planning and recovery actions where required
• Lead Root Cause Analysis and corrective action coordination for major program issues


Leadership & Talent Development
• Build, develop, and lead a high-performance Program Management organization
• Coach and mentor Program Managers and cross-functional leaders to improve execution capability and accountability
• Support hiring, organizational structure development, and succession planning within the Program Management function
• Promote a culture of urgency, ownership, collaboration, and operational discipline


Reporting & Executive Communication
• Prepare and present executive-level program reviews, status updates, KPI reporting, and strategic recommendations
• Track performance metrics including on-time delivery, launch readiness, schedule attainment, margin performance, and operational risk
• Provide leadership visibility into customer trends, operational bottlenecks, and business opportunities


Qualifications


Required Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Business, or related discipline
• 10+ years of strategic or operational leadership experience with direct P&L accountability
• 5+ years of experience supporting complex electro-mechanical manufacturing programs
• Proven experience managing Engineered-to-Order (ETO), New Product Introduction (NPI), or complex industrial manufacturing programs
• Strong cross-functional leadership capability across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations
• Strong executive presence with ability to influence senior leadership, customers, and operational stakeholders
• Experience operating within medium-to-large-scale manufacturing environments


Preferred Qualifications


• MBA or advanced degree preferred
• Experience supporting modular data centers, BESS systems, power generation equipment, or industrial infrastructure programs
• Familiarity with ERP systems, scheduling software, and manufacturing reporting tools
• Exposure to CAD platforms, 3D modeling, or SolidWorks preferred
• Experience within contract manufacturing or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments
• Experience supporting global manufacturing operations or multi-site program execution preferred
