Position: School Age Programming Director


Hours: Full Time, 12 months; 9:45am-6:15pm


Contract: Non-Certified Salary; Experience based pay scale ($50,595-$68,094)


Reporting Relationship: Executive Director



Position Overview The School Age Programming Director is responsible for the planning and execution of all After School & Summer Camp programming, hiring and training of staff, and all administrative matters pertaining to both programs. It is the responsibility of the SAP Director to implement the policies and philosophies of Honey Creek both after school and over the summer. The SAP Director has a variety of day-to-day responsibilities. An overview of major duties is listed below, but is not exhaustive.



Qualifications:



  • Meet all qualifications in Option A, B, or C listed by the Child Care Licensing Bureau for School Age Program Administrator (see document here)

  • Demonstrated ability to engage students’ emotional intelligence and support students with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and learning styles, using a trauma-informed approach

  • Demonstrated ability to embody a commitment to anti-racist work and advancing community and justice in our educational system

  • Demonstrated commitment to creating a culture of well-being and collaboration for all students with the goal of creating empowered learners, ethical and global citizens, and resilient individuals

  • Demonstrated flexibility and problem solving skills in order to work as a productive team member

  • Understanding and commitment to multi-age groupings



Description of Duties:



  • Ensure that all areas of programming are running in compliance with our Child Care License (CCL) at the state and federal levels

  • Create child care environments that are safe and welcoming for all students, guardians, and staff members

  • Update information relating to the CCL, including but not limited to staffing information, requests for addendums to the CCL, and changes to facility capabilities

  • Oversee the process of renewing the CCL every other year

  • Be present during visits from state CCL representative

  • Make all staffing decisions for After School Programming (ASP) and Honey Creek Summer Camp (HCSC), determine wages for all employees, and lead new hires through the onboarding process with the assistance of Human Resources

  • Conduct annual evaluations for all staff members

  • Recommend and implement annual program budgets

  • Monitor monthly program income, in collaboration with the Assistant Summer Camp and Aftercare Director(s)

  • Set up, schedule, staff, advertise, and supervise all afterschool and summer programs

  • Communicate with community stakeholders when major disruptions occur (evacuation of the building, major facilities malfunctioning, etc.)

  • Conduct audit of timesheets for all employees at the end of each pay period

  • Facilitate staff training in line with CCL. This includes, but is not limited to, FERPA, Child Neglect/Abuse, Health and Safety, and PBIS training

  • Implement CCL-regulated cleaning practices for child care spaces

  • Work with CampDoc to create registration for HCSC and ASP

  • Schedule on and off-site field trips, and transportation when necessary, for HCSC

  • Ensure all outside service providers are compensated in a timely manner
