The Opportunity

A 171-bed acute care community hospital in Western Arizona is looking for a Director of Surgical Services to lead one of the region's most active perioperative programs. This is a senior clinical leadership role with real organizational weight — you'll own a full-spectrum surgical service line and report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

The compensation band was recently increased to reflect the scope of this role. Compensation is competitive and negotiable based on experience.

The Role

You'll lead a high-performing perioperative team across a meaningful footprint:

- 114 FTEs across a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and sterile processing technicians
- 9,000 annual surgical cases and 2,000 annual endoscopic procedures
- 10 active operating rooms
- Units under your leadership: Main OR, Ambulatory Surgery Center, PreOp, PACU, Preadmission Testing, Anesthesia Services, and CSPD
- Specialties served: orthopedics, urology, OB/GYN, general surgery, plastics, ENT, neurosurgery, and podiatry

As Director, you will manage staff relations, performance, scheduling, and development; oversee departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, vendor relationships, and capital/equipment needs; and drive evidence-based clinical protocols across the service line.

What You Bring

**Required:**
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
- Active Arizona RN License (Compact RN License accepted)
- 5+ years of surgical nursing experience
- 1+ year of leadership experience in a surgical setting

**Preferred:**
- Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field
- BCLS, PALS, or ACLS Certification
- Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR)

What We Offer

- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage (multiple plan levels)
- Life, disability, accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance
- Paid family leave and PTO
- 401(k) with company match
- Higher education and certification tuition assistance
- Loan assistance
- Free gym memberships, virtual care, and mental health programs
- Ongoing professional development and career advancement pathways

Why Western Arizona

The location and the surrounding region sit at the intersection of the Colorado River and the Mojave Desert — an area that draws people looking for a different pace without giving up access to real amenities. The Colorado River is the anchor of local life: boating, kayaking, fishing, and waterfront dining are part of the everyday rhythm here, not a weekend trip you have to plan months out.

The region is close enough to Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Palm Springs for a quick getaway, but the day-to-day is quieter — wide open space, dry desert air, and a community that tends to look out for its own. For clinicians who have spent years in dense metro systems, this area offers a reset without a trade-off in professional scope.

About the Organization

This is a 171-bed, Joint Commission-accredited, Medicare-certified acute care community hospital that functions as a regional referral center across multiple major medical disciplines — including open heart surgery, complex spine, and neurosurgery. The facility is part of a national diversified healthcare delivery network, which means the resources of a large system with the feel of a community hospital. More than 100 affiliated physicians and allied health professionals comprise the medical staff.
