Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. is recruiting for a Director, People Insights & Advisory Services located in New Brunswick, NJ.

HR Data & Intelligence sits at the heart of Johnson & Johnson’s HR Digital ecosystem, architecting the intelligence layer that shapes how the company understands, engages, and mobilizes its global workforce. This organization builds and operationalizes enterprise‑scale data, analytics, and AI capabilities that do more than inform decisions—they reshape how HR plans, predicts, personalizes, and performs. By unifying data science, employee listening, knowledge management, and responsible AI, HR Data & Intelligence is transforming workforce signals into strategic advantage, ensuring HR is not only insight‑led and future‑ready, but a trusted steward of ethical, human‑centered intelligence at scale. Within this ecosystem, People Insights & Advisory Services provides the focused human‑led analytical and advisory capability dedicated to solving the most complex, ambiguous people‑driven business challenges—including the effectiveness and competitiveness of HR programs—while partnering with data science and product teams to convert repeatable insights into scalable decision products.

The Director, People Insights & Advisory Services leads Johnson & Johnson’s People Insights & Advisory Services team, a focused, high‑impact capability within HR Data & Intelligence dedicated to solving the most complex, ambiguous people‑driven business challenges facing the enterprise.  This role reports directly to the Head of Data & Intelligence.

The Director, People Insights & Advisory Services is accountable for leading and developing a multidisciplinary team of people analytics leaders, data analysts, and reporting experts, while also operating as a hands‑on analytical practitioner and trusted advisor. This role is expected to personally engage in complex analyses—applying rigorous statistical methods, research design, and analytical inference—to frame problems, test hypotheses, interpret results, and guide sound decision‑making. In parallel, the role ensures the team is consistently focused on work that drives measurable business outcomes, with clear mechanisms in place to track, articulate, and communicate the value delivered through advisory engagements.

As a senior leader within HR Data & Intelligence, the Director, People Insights & Advisory Services actively shapes how and where human‑led insight is applied across the organization—reserving advisory capacity for the highest‑value, most complex problems, and partnering closely with data science and product teams to ensure repeatable insights are translated into scalable decision products. The result is an advisory function that combines deep analytical expertise with disciplined prioritization, delivering outsized business impact while reinforcing a modern, outcome‑oriented HR intelligence ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personally lead and contribute to complex, high‑stakes people analyses, applying rigorous statistical methods, research design, and analytical inference to solve ambiguous, people‑driven business challenges.
  • Design and oversee hypothesis‑driven analyses, ensuring appropriate use of descriptive, inferential, and comparative techniques, and that findings are statistically sound, well‑interpreted, and decision‑relevant.
  • Serve as the escalation point for analytically complex, sensitive, or high‑visibility work, ensuring analytical integrity, defensibility, and clarity of interpretation.
  • Partner closely with senior HR and business leaders on executive‑level analyses and high‑stakes reporting, shaping problem statements, aligning on decision context, and delivering clear, credible insights that directly inform leadership decisions.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of people analytics managers, data analysts, and reporting leaders, setting a high bar for analytical rigor, judgment, and business relevance.
  • Operate as a player‑coach, actively reviewing, shaping, and—where appropriate—directly contributing to the team’s most complex analytical work.
  • Own prioritization for People Insights & Advisory Services, ensuring the team focuses exclusively on work that drives meaningful, measurable business outcomes.
  • Establish and apply clear criteria to distinguish between problems that require human‑led advisory analysis and those that should be transitioned into scalable decision products or self‑service solutions.
  • Maintain clear visibility into the value delivered by advisory work, tracking impact and articulating outcomes credibly to HR and business leaders.
  • Partner closely with data science and product teams to ensure repeatable insights are translated into scalable solutions without losing analytical intent or context.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience applying advanced analytics, statistical analysis, and research methods to complex people‑driven or organizational business problems, including work in enterprise or highly matrixed environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in I/O Psychology, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Organizational Behavior, or a related quantitative or behavioral science discipline.
  • Advanced experience applying statistical analysis, research design, and analytical inference (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing, segmentation, comparative analysis, survey and observational data), with the judgment to select and interpret methods appropriately in real‑world business contexts.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience leading data and analytics teams, including direct management of people analytics managers, data analysts, or similar roles, with accountability for performance, development, and delivery.
  • Proven experience operating as a hands‑on analytical practitioner while leading senior analytical teams, balancing personal contribution with coaching and oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner directly with senior HR and business leaders on executive‑level analyses and high‑stakes reporting, including framing ambiguous questions and delivering clear, credible, decision‑ready insights.
  • Strong track record of connecting analytical work to measurable business outcomes, including prioritizing work, evaluating impact, and clearly articulating the value delivered through advisory engagements.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into balanced, nuanced narratives for executive audiences.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in I/O Psychology, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent depth of applied experience.
  • Experience working within a product‑oriented analytics or data organization, including partnering with data science and product teams to scale repeatable insights into durable solutions.
  • Familiarity with employee listening, organizational diagnostics, or evaluation of HR programs at enterprise scale.
