Job Description - Director, Sales & Client Relations

About Us:

ALM First Financial Advisors is a leading, trusted strategic partner for depository institutions, offering an array of financial advisory services. Since 1995, our expertise in asset liability management, fixed income portfolio management and hedging, has allowed us to deliver deeper insights into financial institutions’ balance sheets, strengthening their financial performance and building efficiencies. With more than $80 billion of investments under management. ALM First is an SEC-registered investment advisor, acting as an unbiased third party, offering commission-free, fee-based services to over 400 financial institutions nationwide.

Job Summary:

ALM First is a growing asset management and consulting firm seeking a relentless, highly motivated new business prospector to aggressively drive revenue growth through consultative sales. This is not a relationship-management role — we need a true self-starter who thrives on building a pipeline from scratch, pursuing cold opportunities, and closing new depository clients. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, results-obsessed professional who excels in time management and expanding the ALM First client base. Candidates who have held senior financial roles such as CFO or VP of Finance are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive a defined Eastern Region territory — independently developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to identify, target, and win new business.

  • Drive aggressive new business prospecting through cold calling, targeted outreach, and face-to-face meetings — consistently building and filling a robust pipeline of net-new opportunities.

  • Develop sales presentations for delivery to prospective clients

  • Create and deliver proposals to prospective clients.

  • Utilize company resources as needed to secure commitments.

  • Ensure successful handoff of new clients to financial advisory teams

  • Attend industry events and trade shows for the purpose of generating leads and closing sales

  • Stay informed on industry trends, changes in industry regulations and the competitive landscape

  • Work with management and product development team to refine existing products as needed

  • Consistently generate new depository advisory clients and exceed targeted revenue goals through disciplined prospecting and follow-through.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Experience in strategic sales planning and execution.

  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.

  • Experience selling to C-Suite Executives, ideally CEO/CFO/CLO/Finance or Lending professionals

  • Fundamental understanding of finance and banking, capital markets, lending or treasury functions

  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects

  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings

  • Work requires willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule

Minimum Experience Qualification:

  • PC/Windows-based software experience required with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated track record of aggressive external business development, including extensive cold calling, pipeline management, and CRM software proficiency.

  • Product training and product demonstration experience required.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and team members.
