Job Description - Director, Social Impact

You’ve discovered something special. A company that cares. Cares about leading the way in construction, engineering, manufacturing and renewable energy. Cares about redefining how energy is designed, applied and consumed. Cares about thoughtfully growing to meet market demands. And ─ as “one of the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America” ─ is focused on the mind/body/soul of team members through our Culture of Care.

The Director, Social Impact role leads FTI’s strategic, business‑aligned social impact and community investment initiatives, ensuring all efforts strengthen FTI’s competitive position, support market expansion, enhance customer relationships, and reinforce FTI’s commitment to leading with energy.

Leading the development of mission-driven partnerships, the Director, Social Impact creates initiatives that deliver measurable value for both nonprofit partners and FTI’s long-term business objectives, including talent pipeline development, public relationships, renewable energy leadership, and customer trust.

Will lead the execution of strategic investments, in-kind contributions, and collaborative opportunities to support the growth of FTI’s core business and commitment to sustainable impact.

Work Location:

This role follows a hybrid work model, offering a blend of onsite collaboration and remote flexibility. Team members are required to spend part of their week onsite at our Menahsa, WI office to support teamwork, learning, and inperson connection, while enjoying the autonomy and focus that remote work provides.

We strive to provide a balanced, flexible environment that supports both productivity and engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies nonprofit and community partnerships that deliver measurable business value (e.g., workforce development, energy programs aligned to client priorities).

  • Supports initiatives that strengthen relationships with key customers and utilities or municipalities by aligning philanthropy to their priorities (e.g., STEM, sustainability, energy equity, workforce development).
  • Explores and recommends innovative giving approaches (e.g., energy-as-a-service models, renewable energy microgrants, and impact investment opportunities) that prioritizes long-term impact over transactional donations, as guided by executive leadership.
  • Develops ROI-driven metrics that measure value to nonprofits and FTI (e.g., workforce pipeline outcomes, permitting/municipal relationships, brand visibility, customer alignment, energy savings).
  • Ensures all giving activities adhere to legal, ethical, and corporate governance standards.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

The job description and responsibilities described are intended to provide guidelines for job expectations and the employee's ability to perform the position described.
