Job Description - Director, Studio Operations

We are looking for an accomplished Director of Studio Operations to lead Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth, our new flagship hub on the East Coast.  This role offers a unique opportunity to join Netflix as we continue to redefine global entertainment and share compelling stories with audiences worldwide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide visionary leadership and direction for studio operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission, values, and business objectives.

  • Act as the primary operational leader for Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Foster strategic partnerships with local Boroughs, County officials, and community stakeholders to community engagement.

  • Drive strategic initiatives to support the studio’s growth and long-term success.

  • Champion sustainability initiatives and ensure studio operations align with Netflix's climate goals.

Cultural Stewardship

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing Studio Management and Operations team.

  • Foster collaboration and trust between operations and Production teams.

  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence

  • Design and implement operational strategies to enhance productivity and quality.

  • Oversee the improvement of operational workflows and infrastructure.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Collaborate with Finance to develop and manage operational budgets and resources.

  • Monitor financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Work with Studio Safety, Security, and Risk Management to maintain a safe work environment.

Facilities Management

  • Lead the Site and Services team to ensure efficient and reliable campus operations.

  • Develop and improve operational procedures to support a high-performing studio environment.

  • Align facilities decisions with Netflix’s sustainability goals.

Performance Measurement

  • Establish and track KPIs to measure operational effectiveness and drive improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent studio operations in meetings with partners, clients and stakeholders.

  • Build relationships with production teams along with local and state officials.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in studio production or a similar environment.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and contracts.

  • Strategic and innovative mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in facilities management software and Google Workspace.

  • Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Experience with facility expansion and operational capital projects is a plus.

  • Experience with facility onboarding and development of operational workflow.

 

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $420,000.00 - $790,000.00.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
