Dishwasher

Il Fornaio Cucina Italiano is Hiring for full or part time Dishwashers. Experience is not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Maintains order and cleanliness in all kitchen areas, storerooms, dining room, restrooms, garbage area and surrounding outdoor areas.

· Sprays items to be washed with sprayer nozzle to remove debris before washing.

· Pre-soaks silverware a minimum of 15 minutes in a three compartment container.

· Washes and sanitizes all pots, pans, plates, dishes, silverware, glassware and utensils using dish machine, handwashing and three compartment sink capacities.

· Restocks all pots, pans, dishes, glassware, silverware and utensils in proper place.

· Organizes and rotates supplies when deliveries arrive. Breaks down all boxes from deliveries.

· Empties garbage cans at 2/3 full capacity and relines refuse cans.

· Mops and sweeps kitchen during and at end of shift.

· Uses dishwashing equipment, garbage disposal, racks and related equipment; maintains and keeps sanitary.

· Checks levels of dishwashing chemicals each hour. Changes dish machine water and soak tub water when necessary. Cleans dishwashing machine and washing station during and at end of shift.

· Ensures all items washed have no debris before putting in proper storage area.

· Stocks wood and coal for grill and ovens.

· Stocks workstations with ample utensils and utilizes organized rotation of storerooms and refrigerators.

· Checks and replenishes sanitizer, soaps, hand towels, and dish chemicals.

· Assists prep with chopping, peeling, and preparation of a variety of food as needed.

· Conducts self in a safe, professional manner at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. No prior experience or training required.

CERTIFICATES/ LICENSES Local or state law may require specific certifications to handle food as a condition of employment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read a limited number of two and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words, symbols, colors and series of numbers. Ability to speak and understand simple sentences and read product labels.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to handle standard situations competently.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES General sociability. Ability to communicate with staff members and management while being well mannered and professional. Professional, well groomed appearance.
