Position Overview

The dishwasher/runner maintains and cleans all dishware, kitchen tools and equipment used in
the café. This position works with the Kitchen Lead, Cooks, Bakers and prep teams in creating
a stellar experience for Wonderstate Café customers.

Currently seeking a weekend dishwasher for approx. 6-12 hours.

Tips + Guaranteed Minimum Pay
You’ll be eligible to participate in our tip pool for hours that directly support service.

We guarantee a minimum of $15.00/hour, if your hourly wages plus tips fall below this amount, Wonderstate will make up the difference.

Core Responsibilities:

• Wash dishes quickly and carefully.


• Stocks clean dishware in appropriate places.


• Maintains a clean dishpit and operates the dishwashing machine correctly.


• Adheres to sanitation standards.


• Scrubs pots and pans thoroughly.


• Buses dishware from the dining room and bar.


• Sanitizes all dining room surfaces


• Spot sweeps café during hours of service


• Sweeps and mops the kitchen


• Assists cooks and prep cooks with food preparation and plating as needed.


• Delivers food to customers


• Assists Kitchen Lead with putting away the food order


• Honor relationships within the team by giving and receiving feedback respectfully,
  expressing gratitude to others, and actively contributing to a positive team environment

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

Requirements and Desired Skills

• Ability to communicate clearly and promptly with staff and customers.


• Can give and receive feedback respectfully.


• Strong organization and time management skills.


• Ability to remain calm and personable in a fast-paced environment


• Impeccable follow through.
  


• Desire to continually be challenged and grow as a professional.


• Ability to consistently show up on time, dressed appropriately for kitchen work.


• Passion for ethically sourced, organic, high quality coffee and food, and supporting
  farmer cooperatives


• Previous kitchen experience preferred, but not required

Work Environment

• Weekend hours are required
  


• Participation in quarterly deep clean process at least once a year


• Participation in special events or catering on occasion


• Participation in monthly staff meetings required


• Physical demands include bending, sitting, lifting 50 lbs, and standing for long hours
