We now specialize in sprinkler system testing, repair and installation, kitchen and restaurant systems, fire alarm design, installation and service, backflow prevention devices, full service alarm monitoring, fire pump repair and installation, and underground hydrant repairs and installation, among the many services we offer.

The Dispatcher is Metro Fire’s first point of contact for emergency and non-emergency calls. As a Dispatcher, you will primarily be responsible for monitoring routes, transferring messages, and directing technicians. To be able to excel in this position, the desired candidate will be able to multi-task in stressful conditions with little supervision, have excellent communication skills, and have strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities  

Answer emergency and non-emergency calls and document important information through company software.

Respond to any issues and follow-up by coordinating with appropriate technicians and/or departments.

Call customers to set up service and manage logistics of job (i.e., setting up lifts, securing equipment, obtaining building codes, etc.) 

Enter data into the company system and maintain logs, records of calls, activities, and other required information.

Build out contracts and ensure all services required are included in the contract.

Set up new customers in software (Profit Zoom)

Complete Building Reports for buildings being serviced.

Monitor schedules and ensure technicians have full, tight schedules (i.e., technicians are spending more time working than travelling to various job sites)

Operate and manage a multi-line telephone console system.

Use phone and computer system to direct technicians to the appropriate sites.

Perform other related duties as assigned or required. 


Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Two (2) years prior work experience

Able to work full-time, between the hours of 7AM – 6PM

Ability to multi-task and prioritize work according to urgency.

Ability to work well under pressure.

High precision/detail-oriented

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Fast typing with experience in data entry

Knowledge of fire systems and tools

Does not take short-cuts: work effectively and efficiently while performing all aspects of the required job.

Preferred

Experience working in Profit Zoom

Building Reports and Paylocity

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
