The Analyst/ Sr Analyst, Sales Strategy is part of the Sales Strategy team within the Commercial Division. This role analytically supports the strategic initiatives related to optimizing the performance of corporations and agencies across the Indirect channel. Leveraging strategic analysis and data-driven insights, the team unlocks revenue opportunities and provides actionable guidance for achieving AA's commercial objectives. The team tracks performance of these corporates and agencies, and identifies areas of opportunity, either contractually or tactically.
• Develop and monitor the effectiveness of revenue strategies and initiatives
• Foster relationships and lead discussions with stakeholders across the company that are focused on driving long term value to American Airlines (including Sales, Revenue Management, Loyalty, Network Planning)
• Analyze the performance of existing contracts, evaluate new opportunities and craft creative solutions that drive continuous improvement from American Airlines’ Indirect partners
• Utilize statistical analysis, predictive modeling or other analytical methods to analyze data and develop practical solutions to business problems
• Present analyses, strategies and results to all levels of the organization.
• Align teams around commercial strategies, key objectives and success metrics, maintaining clear communication across teams, and ensuring cross-functional actions are completed
• Tailor communication of complex ideas to both junior and senior-level audiences
• Perform validation of models to ensure adequacy, define data requirements, and gather and validate information, applying judgement and statistical tests
• Develop performance measurements and analytical tools to improve profitability and account accountability
• Develop reports and proposals, such as market assessments, business plans, account performance plans, etc.
• Analyze data derived from various areas, such as DDS, market trends, BIDT, ROI analyses, performance and budget analyses, profitability statistics, in order to devise strategies to increase revenue and profitability
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/training
• 3 years of related work experience Master’s degree in a related field
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
• Advanced knowledge of data analysis tools including Excel, Tableau, SQL, and Power BI
• Experience in airline Sales Strategy, Sales Programs, Network Planning, Revenue Management, Commercial, or analytical field
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
• Eager to solve complex problems and puzzles in a constrained and dynamic environment
• Ability to leverage understanding of the airline business and commercial goals to draw insights, drive results, and create innovative solutions
• Adaptive to new ideas and business processes in an ever-changing marketplace
• Ability to perform in cross-functional groups with minimal supervision to drive outcomes which benefit the entire airline
• Skilled at sharing knowledge to develop the expertise of the team as a whole
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
