Dock and Delivery Driver Assistant

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Dock Hand & Delivery Driver Assistant to support our freight and transportation operations. This position will assist with loading and unloading freight, organizing shipments, preparing deliveries, and accompanying delivery drivers to ensure freight is handled safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is physically capable, safety-minded, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse and delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from trucks, trailers, and warehouse dock areas.
• Assist drivers with deliveries, pickups, and customer stops.
• Safely move freight using a sit-down forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, carts, and other equipment.
• Secure freight properly to prevent damage during transportation.
• Verify freight, labels, quantities, and delivery paperwork.
• Help organize freight on the dock and in designated warehouse areas.
• Assist with lifting, carrying, stacking, and positioning freight.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock and work area.
• Communicate professionally with customers, drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous warehouse, freight, dock, delivery, or transportation experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience in operating a sit-down forklift.
• Ability to safely lift and move heavy freight throughout the workday.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation

• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe freight handling.
• Professional attitude and good communication skills.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends as business needs require.

• Ability to lift up to [50–75 lbs.] independently and heavier items with assistance or proper equipment.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse and outdoor weather conditions.

 

Pay: $17-$18

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5am - 2pm
