DAILY WORK
When you become our Dock & Door Installation Technician, you'll work under the direction of your foreman to accurately, efficiently, and safely install all kinds of commercial doors and loading dock equipment. You will:
Work alongside your team and follow the foreman's instructions to properly install, align, and test the functioning of loading dock components (such as levelers, shelters, seals, bumpers, and vehicle restraints)
Properly install commercial doors, including overhead, sectional, and high-speed doors
Record the work you perform and submit work orders electronically
Follow all safety procedures and quality guidelines, and jump in to assist your team in other areas as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Our ideal Dock & Door Installation Technician is experienced with installing/repairing commercial overhead doors. What matters most is that you have:
2+ years of related mechanical, welding, electrical, and/or hydraulics experience
Construction experience
Installation experience
Proficiency with electronic communication tools, document submission devices, and related work applications
Ability to effectively communicate in person and over email
Ability to think outside the box, solve practical problems, and handle concrete variables in situations with limited standardization
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High school degree or GED equivalent
Valid driver's license in good standing
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Positive attitude, a coachable mindset, and a drive to keep learning
Physical Requirements
Ability to frequently stand, reach, grasp, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, and crawl with minimal sitting breaks
Ability to wear all PPE
Ability to lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift 100+ pounds
Ability to work in noisy environments and all kinds of weather conditions
Ability to read, write, and follow directions
