Dock Processor/Forklift Operator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operates forklift to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently to and from storage areas, workstations, and other assigned areas.


2. Loads, unloads, and stacks goods and materials in accordance with policies and safety procedures; always maintains awareness of possible hazards.


3. Inspects and maintains forklift and other material handling equipment. Notifies management when repairs are required.


4. Complies with all safety regulations and company guidelines.


5. Performs other related duties as assigned by Lead or Manager.

Skills

• Must be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate strong attention to detail.


• Must be able to read and understand material tags, work orders, and read a tape measure.


• Computer skills are a must, NETSUITE will be used.


• Must be able to pass SRP accredited forklift operating training and exam.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.


• 2 years experience working in a warehouse preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position is based in a plant environment where proper PPE is required while performing tasks and duties. The position requires walking and standing for prolonged periods. As part of the regular duties of the job, this position requires the use of hands and fingers to handle, feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. This position regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds to shoulder height and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 75 pounds.
