Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dockhand to join our team in Westerly, RI. The ideal candidate will assist with the daily operations of the dock, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of boats and equipment. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mooring and securing boats to docks and slips.


• Load and unload supplies, equipment, and cargo from vessels.


• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of docks, boats, and equipment.


• Operate dock equipment such as forklifts, winches, and cranes safely.


• Monitor dock area for safety hazards and report any issues promptly.


• Provide excellent customer service to boat owners and marina guests.


• Assist with fueling boats and managing waste disposal as needed.


• Follow all safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dockhand or similar maritime role preferred but not required.


• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.


• Basic knowledge of boat handling and marine equipment is a plus.


• Strong communication and teamwork skills.


• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.


• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
