Job Summary
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, St. Francis Community Services, is seeking a Donor Engagement Manager. The Manager is responsible for raising unrestricted funds, managing event‑fundraising workflows, and overseeing donor‑engagement activities. This role does not include direct supervisory responsibilities. The Manager will secure gifts for St. Francis Community Services (SFCS) by cultivating, stewarding, and retaining a portfolio of mid‑level donors, while identifying donors with potential for increased giving. The position also leads the donor‑recognition and donor‑acknowledgement processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and meaningful stewardship across all touchpoints. The starting annual salary for this position is $65,000. The core working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.
Job Responsibilities
- Nurture midlevel donors and manage the moves management process with focus on retaining donors, upgrading gifts and acquiring new donors.
- Evaluate, enhance and grow monthly (sustaining) giver program.
- Track engagement and create plans for future formalized Giving Society.
- Proactively develop and cultivate donors to strengthen relationships through events, volunteering, and annual giving opportunities.
- Engage new donors in stewardship plan to connect and educate on opportunities to get more involved with Catholic Charities.
- Assist the Philanthropy team in creating a formalized stewardship plan for annual fund donors.
- Implement and manage midlevel and monthly donor stewardship activities, including a quarterly Donor Days and weekly thank you calls.
- Assist the Philanthropy team in the planning and execution of donor recognition and cultivation events including fundraising events.
- Ensure donor recognition and appreciation is appropriately occurring at all levels of giving including events sponsors and event attendees.
- Develop and implement strategies for donor acquisition, retention and upgrades through personal visits, presentations, direct and electronic mail, collaborate with Integrated Marketing and Communications (IM&C) as needed with communication strategies.
- Work with IM&C to develop materials and to source donor stories in support of annual giving.
- Collaborate with Chief of Philanthropy and IM&C to identify and secure speaking engagements with community groups to explain the mission and philanthropic needs of Catholic Charities.
- Participate weekly in meaningful donor communication (personal visits, engaging phone conversation or significant email engagement).
- Serve as primary leader for monthly donors/sustainers eventual Giving Society, delegate to direct reports as needed.
- Serve as primary leader for Operation Safe at Home Campaign, collaborating with colleagues in Philanthropy as needed.
- Assist the Director on the preparation of annual fundraising plan and year-end reporting
- Ensure event fundraising goals are met; committee satisfaction and event logistics are successful.
- Manage and lead Donor Engagement Coordinator, if applicable, to ensure portfolio stewardship and maintain best practices for donor stewardship with timely acknowledgement and follow-up.
- Ensure entry of correspondence and other touches with donors and prospects into the donor database
- Serve on the Philanthropy management team to ensure department goals are reached.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Four or more years’ experience in non-profit fundraising, including focused relationship building skills and customer services.
