Job Description - Door & Gate Service Manager

Job Overview

Sacs Door & Gate Corp is hiring a Field Installation Manager to support and oversee high-volume commercial door and gate service and repair operations throughout the Greater Sacramento area. This is a hands-on field leadership role focused on troubleshooting, service estimating, scheduling crews, and ensuring fast, high-quality job completion.

This newly created position is designed to improve field efficiency and support leadership by managing multiple active service jobs, technicians, and customer needs in real time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily field operations across 10–20 active commercial service jobs
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose commercial door and gate issues on-site and remotely
  • Prepare service estimates and define job scope
  • Schedule and coordinate small installation/service crews (1–2 technicians)
  • Source parts, materials, and equipment for repair and installation work
  • Ensure all work is completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to keep projects moving
  • Support compliance with ADA, fire-rated doors, and safety standards
  • Work closely with leadership during a structured 6-month training period

Required Experience

  • Strong hands-on commercial door and gate service/repair experience
  • Must have field troubleshooting and diagnostic ability (not new install only)
  • Experience with multiple commercial door systems, such as:
    • Automatic doors (SIG or equivalent)
    • Storefront doors
    • Hollow metal and solid core/wood doors
    • Overhead doors
    • Dock equipment
    • Gates and gate operators
  • Experience running estimates and coordinating service work
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs in a fast-paced field environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across most or all listed commercial door systems
  • Prior field leadership or crew supervision experience
  • Strong estimating and quoting experience (end-to-end ownership preferred)
  • Ability to independently source parts and vendors
  • Knowledge of ADA compliance, fire-rated doors, and safety standards
  • Background in high-volume service industries (HVAC, facilities, commercial maintenance)
  • Experience with competitors such as Vortex, R&S Doors, or Industrial Door Company is a plus

Important Requirement

This is a commercial service and repair role only. Candidates with only new installation experience or residential door experience will not be considered. Strong troubleshooting ability in real field conditions is essential.
