We are actively searching for a Door Attendant (Flexible Schedule, Relief Employee)


Position Summary


The Door Attendant is responsible for creating an exceptional first and last impression for all guests of Beacon Grand by delivering warm, gracious, and attentive service at the hotel entrance. This role welcomes guests upon arrival and departure, assists with doors, directions, and transportation coordination, and ensures a polished and seamless guest experience reflective of a luxury hospitality environment. The Door Attendant acknowledges all guests according to company standards, anticipates service needs, assists individuals with disabilities, and provides information regarding hotel facilities, services, and local destinations.


Essential Responsibilities



  • Welcome all guests, residents, and visitors at the hotel entrance with a warm, professional, and engaging demeanor.

  • Open and close doors for guests entering and leaving the hotel and assist with ingress and egress in a courteous and attentive manner.

  • Create a gracious first and last impression by acknowledging guests promptly and providing personalized service whenever possible.

  • Anticipate guest needs and offer assistance proactively, including directions, transportation support, and coordination with Bell Services when luggage assistance is needed.

  • Assist guests with arriving and departing vehicles in accordance with hotel procedures and safety standards.

  • Coordinate closely with Valet, Bell, Front Office, and Security teams to ensure smooth guest arrivals and departures.

  • Recognize returning and VIP guests and extend a warm, professional welcome back to the hotel.

  • Provide accurate information regarding hotel outlets, amenities, services, events, and hours of operation.

  • Offer knowledgeable recommendations regarding local restaurants, entertainment, shopping, attractions, and transportation options.

  • Assist guests with disabilities by providing appropriate accommodations and assistance in accordance with hotel standards and guest preferences.

  • Monitor the front entrance and surrounding guest arrival areas to ensure cleanliness, order, safety, and an exceptional presentation at all times.

  • Manage lobby and entrance traffic flow during high-volume arrival and departure periods with professionalism and urgency.

  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest questions, requests, and concerns, and escalate matters appropriately when necessary.

  • Maintain a polished appearance and professional presence consistent with Beacon Grand luxury service standards.

  • Support hotel operations and special events as needed to ensure a seamless guest experience.


Required Skills/Abilities



  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with reliable and regular attendance.

  • Strong guest service skills with the ability to provide a refined, anticipatory, and personalized luxury experience.

  • Fluent in oral and written English.

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally with guests, residents, and team members.

  • Knowledge of local establishments, attractions, businesses, transportation options, and the surrounding community.

  • Ability to exercise tact, discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in a variety of guest service situations.

  • Ability to remain calm, courteous, and service-focused in a fast-paced, high-traffic luxury hotel environment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with valet, bell, front office, housekeeping, engineering, and security teams.

  • Strong awareness of hotel entrance safety, guest privacy, and service etiquette.


Education and Experience



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1–2 years of experience in hotel guest services, door service, valet, bell service, or front office operations preferred.

  • Previous lifestyle or luxury hotel experience preferred.


Physical Requirements



  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, bend, and use hands to handle or feel objects.

  • Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods during the shift.

  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors for prolonged periods and in varying weather conditions.

  • Must be able to assist guests in and out of vehicles and support light luggage handling when needed.

  • Must be able to push, pull, and carry items and exert physical effort consistent with guest arrival and departure services.

  • Must be able to see guests, vehicles, and objects at close range and at a distance.

  • Must be able to respond quickly to guest needs and changing traffic conditions at the hotel entrance.

  • Long hours may be required, including weekends and holidays, based on business demands.
