Key Result Areas (KRAs): SAFETY – QUALITY – EFFICIENCY

Leadership and Equipment Operation

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment including dozers, backhoes, excavators, and scrapers for mass and finish earthwork projects.


• Use GPS-guided systems for precise grading and excavation tasks.


• Demonstrate the ability to dig in a box and execute both mass and finish earthwork projects to meet high-quality standards.


• Step out of machinery as needed to assist the crew with manual tasks to ensure project success and teamwork.

Safety and Compliance

• Promote a culture of safety and compliance with all relevant safety regulations.


• Conduct routine equipment checks, ensuring machinery is well-maintained and operating safely.


• Adhere to and enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and all safety guidelines on-site.

Execution and Quality Assurance

• Be accountable for the quality and efficiency of all earthwork, ensuring that work meets project specifications and deadlines.


• Ensure all grading, digging, and loading are done with precision, minimizing errors and maximizing productivity.


• Collaborate with other crew members and foremen to complete tasks efficiently and on time.

Resource Allocation and Maintenance

• Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as backhoes, dozers, and excavators, including tasks like fluid checks, cleaning, and minor repairs.


• Report any mechanical issues and ensure timely repairs to avoid work delays.

Communication and Collaboration

• Maintain open communication with site supervisors, foremen, and crew members to ensure smooth operations.


• Collaborate with project managers to stay on schedule and adjust plans when necessary due to unforeseen challenges like weather conditions.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years operating heavy equipment such as dozers, backhoes, excavators, and scrapers in both mass and finish earthwork projects.


• Technical Skills: GPS experience preferred for grading and excavation tasks but not required. 


• Transportation: Reliable transportation to job sites in the Lebanon/Indy Metro area.


• Communication: Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with the crew and management.


• Work Ethic: Positive and productive work attitude, with a commitment to high-quality standards and safety.


• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more and endure physically demanding tasks such as standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting for long periods.
