Drafter

SUMMARY: This position has the primary responsibility of supporting the Engineering Development effort with drawings, specifications, BOMs, instructions, and other required documentation to support the communication of the design intent to stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

·            Collaborates with the Product Engineering team to create the documentation

·         Drawings

·         Specifications

·         BOMs

·         Instructions

·            Collaborate with Production to support requests that require engineering changes

·            Manages projects efficiently and timely

·            Evaluates New/Changes and seek feedback from internal and external Customers

·            Supports and provides input into Cost Analysis

·            Collaborate with Production to create/develop preliminary routes and work instructions

·            Collaborates with Quality Department to identify on the specification the critical characteristics/features that are essential to the function of the product.

·            Performs these and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: 

EDUCATION:

High School diploma with 5+ years relevant experience or degree/certification using CAD/3D modeling with 3+ years’ experience required.

·            Solid knowledge of various engineering disciplines, procedures, and policies is required.

·            Drafting/GD&T best practices knowledge

·            ERP experience required

·            Demonstrated project skills

·            Good communication skills

·            Strong decision-making skills is a must

·            3D CAD Skills, Autodesk Inventor required

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY:

Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
