Drafting Coordinator in Houston, TX

$33/hr. - $37/hr. (commensurate with experience)
Contract role with hybrid schedule (Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday in office; Wednesday & Friday remote/work from home)

We are seeking a Drafting Coordinator to support engineering and project teams by serving as a key liaison between internal drafting resources, external service providers, Project Managers, and Engineers. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical drafting coordination experience who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate between internal drafting teams, external service providers, Project Managers, and Engineers
Support standard and moderately complex technical assignments requiring strong technical expertise
Collaborate with the Design Oversight Team in preparing preliminary layouts, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
Participate in the development of new procedures and continuous improvement of existing drafting practices
Review drafting requirements, expectations, and project deliverables
Ensure drawings conform to project and drafting standards
Provide required documentation to project engineers or coordinators for Design Basis Memorandum (DBM) reference
Check CAD files into the FileNet Working Library
Verify drawings are properly loaded into both Engineering and Working Libraries
Communicate with project engineers and coordinators to confirm libraries are current and complete

Qualifications:

Experience supporting engineering and drafting teams in a coordination capacity
Strong understanding of drafting standards, CAD file management, and engineering documentation
Familiarity with PFDs, P&IDs, and technical drawing review processes
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
Strong communication and organizational skills
