Driver / Delivery Tech

SUMMARY OF POSITION:\n\n The Delivery Technician is responsible for the physical inventory of the IV/Enteral and DME programs and the timely delivery of these products and supplies.\n\n \n\nDIMENSIONS:\n\n Facilitates daily delivery to patients and proper operation of delivery vehicle.\n\n \n\nNATURE AND SCOPE:\n\n To provide delivery of program related medications, supplies, and equipment to customers. Monitors vehicle for proper operation.\n\n \n\nACCOUNTABILITIES:\n\n 1. Delivers and picks up equipment from homecare patients. Sets up equipment and instructs patients on the basic use of equipment. Assists patients in solving problems regarding equipment use.\n 2. Schedules and organizes daily deliveries and pickups according to geographic territory. Loads and unloads durable medical or infusion equipment, oxygen and medical supplies onto delivery vehicle.\n 3. Complies with all applicable regulatory requirements including providing documents needed and abiding by hours of service, daily log, hazardous materials (placarding, training and shipping papers) and vehicle inspection and maintenance regulations.\n 4. Completes necessary paperwork including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, reimbursement documents and vehicle maintenance logs. Distributes paperwork to appropriate personnel. Notifies supervisor if physical abuse, unsafe home environment or unsanitary home conditions are discovered.\n 5. Maintains daily vehicle maintenance logs and incident reports. Ensures vehicles are in proper working condition. Ensures preventive maintenance on vehicles is performed on a timely basis according to DOT, FDA and JCAHO. \n 6. Responds to emergency delivery calls as needed and on an on-call basis.\n 7. May clean and assist with repair of equipment. Performs routine vehicle maintenance including the checking of gasoline, oil fluids, tire pressure and brakes. Reports malfunctions to supervisor.\n 8. Performs regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.\n 9. Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.\n\n\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\n\n * Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.\n * At least one year of related experience is required.\n * Excellent customer service skills required.\n * Must meet job-related requirements to comply with DOT, FDA, and JCAHO regulations.\n * Must have capability of lifting up to 50 pounds consistently.\n\n\n
