DVS Outreach Supervisor

As the DVS Outreach Supervisor, you will lead a team that helps survivors of intimate partner violence understand their options, navigate complex systems, and connect with resources that strengthen safety and stability. You will combine people leadership, direct advocacy, community partnership, and program oversight to ensure survivors receive responsive, trauma-informed support throughout Polk and Warren Counties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Leadership & Oversight

• Oversee daily outreach operations and ensure services align with CFI's mission, agency policies, funding requirements, and trauma-informed practices.
• Coordinate staffing and coverage for outreach locations, civil and criminal court advocacy, crisis response, community presentations, and other assigned services.
• Monitor service quality, program outcomes, and emerging community needs to strengthen survivor access and program effectiveness.
• Plan and coordinate domestic violence awareness activities, community education, and outreach initiatives throughout the year.

Staff Supervision & Development

• Supervise, coach, and support Outreach Advocates, including participating in hiring, onboarding, training, work assignment, and performance management.
• Provide regular individual supervision and team meetings that promote accountability, skill development, communication, and employee well-being.
• Support staff in navigating complex cases, crisis situations, ethical questions, professional boundaries, and secondary trauma.
• Foster a collaborative, dependable, and mission-driven team culture focused on survivor-centered service.

Survivor Advocacy & Service Oversight

• Ensure survivors receive timely crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, support, referrals, and coordinated services based on their individual needs and choices.
• Oversee court advocacy and ensure survivors receive clear information about relevant rights, procedures, options, and obligations within the civil and criminal justice systems.
• Support staff in connecting survivors with housing, employment, economic, legal, transportation, mental health, substance-use, and other community resources.
• Provide direct advocacy, first-response coverage, group or individual services, and transportation when program needs require supervisory support.

Community Collaboration & Systems Coordination

• Build and maintain effective relationships with courts, law enforcement, service providers, and community partners to improve survivor access and safety.
• Represent CFI in the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, community meetings, and other networking or system-improvement groups.
• Strengthen referral pathways and coordinate with partner agencies when needed to support survivor-identified goals and reduce service barriers.
• Deliver or coordinate presentations and training that increase awareness of intimate partner violence, trauma-informed response, and available services.

Compliance, Data & Reporting

• Ensure accurate, complete, confidential, and timely client documentation, service records, statistical reports, and other required program records.
• Oversee compliance with grant requirements, agency policies, accreditation standards, confidentiality obligations, and applicable program guidelines.
• Monitor program data, expenses, service trends, and outcomes; address gaps and support accurate month-end and funder reporting.
• Assist with grant implementation, reporting, audits, and continuous quality improvement activities for outreach services.

Administrative & Operational Support

• Partner with DVS leadership on program planning, resource allocation, policy implementation, and responses to employee and client feedback.
• Manage schedules, workloads, and program coverage to support reliable services and responsible use of resources.
• Participate in DVS leadership and staff meetings and contribute to department and agency-wide initiatives.

What You Need to Succeed

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, human services, or a closely related field required.
• Relevant direct-service experience in domestic violence, victim services, crisis intervention, advocacy, or a related human services setting required.
• Supervisory or leadership experience that demonstrates the ability to coach staff, manage performance, and coordinate services required.
• Experience with grant-funded programs, court advocacy, and community-based services strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership, coaching, conflict-resolution, and team-development skills.
• Working knowledge of intimate partner violence, survivor-centered advocacy, trauma-informed care, and community resources.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, deadlines, and urgent service needs with sound judgment.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, data-review, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with respect for diverse identities and experiences.

Special Requirements

• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and eligibility for agency auto insurance coverage required.
• Ability to travel locally and work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or crisis-response coverage, as needed.
• Maintain all required certifications, including applicable ICADV certification, training, and compliance standards.
• Ability to respond effectively to crisis situations and support staff and survivors in high-stress environments.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Ability to work in office, court, community, and field-based environments.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, communicating, and computer use, with occasional lifting or moving of up to 20 pounds.
• Exposure to varied environments, including community locations and occasional outside weather conditions.
• Ability to manage high-stress situations, maintain professional boundaries, and support crisis response.
