Job title: Early Childhood Education Coach


The Early Childhood Education Coach is responsible for providing guidance and support to early care and education programs to enhance the quality of care and education provided to young children. This role involves working closely with program and teaching staff to implement best practices, assess program effectiveness, and develop quality improvement plans. The Early Childhood Education Coach will utilize their expertise in early childhood education to mentor and train staff, ensuring that programs can meet established quality standards. This position requires a deep understanding of early childhood development, strong communication skills, and a commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.


What you’ll do:



  • Collaborate with child care center or family home care staff, and as applicable, other technical assistance service providers to review assessment findings to plan supportive service intervention and develop Quality Improvement Plans.

  • Assist in the implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan through regular coaching visits including, but not limited to, observations, reflective feedback, training, modeling, and/or providing resources.

  • Consult directly with participants to plan and implement training or direct technical assistance in a variety of areas based on best practice principles in adult learning and identified goals and objectives of the Quality Improvement Plans.

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on coach activities and participant progress including coaching logs, activity log entries and Quality Improvement Plans.


What you’ll bring:



  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education (ECE), child development, or a closely related field.

  • Five years of experience working in a licensed and/or regulated early childhood setting with children birth through 8 years of age.

  • Experience in and/or knowledge of the following topics:

    • Training, coaching, or mentoring of adults

    • Adult learning theory and practices

    • Child development/Early childhood education

    • ADHS/ADES child care regulations

    • Indicators of quality in early care and education setting

    • Curriculum and assessment in early childhood settings

    • Early childhood community resources




What sets you apart:



  • Master’s degree in ECE, child development, or a closely related field, preferred.

  • Direct work with infants, toddlers and preschools in an early childhood setting, preferred.
