Early Head Start Center Assistant

Position: Center Assistant

Program and Location: Early Head Start, North Platte

Position Summary: The Center Assistant provides support to staff.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in classroom as needed by implementing daily lesson plan, assisting in record keeping, documentation, providing classroom breaks.
• Assist with meal and snack distribution and clean up.
• Assist staff with ensuring classroom inventories are stocked.
• Assist in implementation of oral health practices as needed.

• Assist with general housekeeping of the center.

• Assume the role and responsibility of other center positions during staff absences.
• Be actively engaged in all Head Start activities and model appropriate behavior.

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED. Consideration will be given to individuals working towards GED.

Required Skills:

• Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the general public as well as other agency employees.
• Model appropriate/professional behavior.
• Previous experience working with children preferred.

Schedule/Hours: 30 hours per week, scheduled full year.

Pay Rate: Starting pay is $15.78 per hour. With benefits the wage calculates to an approximate value of $20.20 an hour.
