Echocardiograph Technologist

Under the general supervision of the Heart & Vascular Services Manager, the echocardiography technologist performs routine and emergent diagnostic echocardiography on adult and geriatric patients. Demonstrates competency in performing 2D echocardiography with Doppler, stress echocardiography with and without contrast, dobutamine stress echocardiography. The echocardiography technologist assists physicians in the performance of transesophageal echocardiography, intra-operative echocardiography and echo guided pericardiocentesis.  The technologists also perform any job related functions (clerical, transportation, training and cleaning), as needed to provide optimal care.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound program.


• Upon hire: National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography 


• Upon hire: National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International 


• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, or


• Bachelor’s Degree in Cardiovascular Technology.


• Upon hire: RDCS or RDCS eligible


• Experience in echocardiography.
