We are looking for an E-Commerce Specialist to help grow and manage our online sales channels and improve the digital experience for our customers.
Position Summary
The E-Commerce Specialist will be responsible for managing and growing the company's online sales presence, including our website, online product catalog, marketplaces, and digital sales channels.
This position will manage product listings, pricing, inventory information, product content, promotions, and customer experience while working closely with purchasing, sales, warehouse, and marketing teams.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with large product catalogs, and interested in electrical products and e-commerce.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the company's e-commerce website and online product catalog
- Create, update, and optimize product listings, including product names, descriptions, specifications, images, part numbers, and technical information
- Research electrical products, manufacturer information, specifications, and competitive pricing
- Ensure product pricing, availability, inventory, and other online information is accurate
- Add new products and product categories to the website and other online sales channels
- Maintain accurate manufacturer part numbers, UPCs, SKUs, product attributes, and related product data
- Optimize product pages for search engines and improve online product visibility
- Monitor website performance, product views, conversion rates, sales, and other e-commerce metrics
- Collaborate with marketing to stay current on promotions and sales specials
- Work closely with the IT department on technical issues
- Identify opportunities to increase online sales through improved product content, merchandising, promotions, and pricing
- Assist with managing onlin marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, or other industry-specific platforms, as applicable
- Coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure products are properly represented online
- Work with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams to resolve online customer questions and order issues
- Monitor competitor pricing and online product offerings
- Identify website errors, missing product information, pricing issues, broken links, and other problems and coordinate their resolution
- Develop and maintain standard procedures for adding and updating products
- Generate reports and provide management with recommendations based on e-commerce performance
- Stay current with e-commerce trends, technology, SEO, and digital sales best practices
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in e-commerce, online sales, digital merchandising, product management, or a related field
- Experience managing an e-commerce website and online product catalog
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Electrical industry, electrical distribution, lighting, or industrial product experience
- Experience working with large numbers of SKUs or product catalogs
- Experience with Infor Cloud Suite Distribution ERP and IDEA Connector
- Experience with Amazon, eBay, Google Merchant Center, or other marketplaces
- Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who combines e-commerce knowledge with strong attention to product details.
You should be comfortable researching an electrical product, understanding its specifications, finding the correct manufacturer information, comparing pricing, and turning that information into a clear and accurate online product listing.
Experience in an electrical supply house, electrical distribution, industrial supply, construction supply, or similar wholesale environment is highly desirable.
