Registered Nurse - Trauma Center, Emergency Department

Location: RGH Global, Abilene, Texas
Shift: Night Shift Full-Time
Sign-On Bonus: $20,000

Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse in the Trauma Center, Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, efficient care to patients of all ages and acuities. Your duties will include:

  • Emergency Care: Provide fast, compassionate care to patients presenting with a wide variety of illnesses, injuries, and trauma in a high-acuity, high-volume environment.
  • Prioritization: Respond to emergency situations quickly and effectively, ensuring patient safety and timely interventions.
  • Collaboration: Work with a multi-disciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to provide the best possible outcomes for trauma patients.
  • Patient Interaction: Provide clear communication to patients and families, ensuring they understand their care plan and expected outcomes.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to all safety protocols, including those defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
  • Adaptability: Handle the unpredictable pace and intensity of the Emergency Department with calm and urgency.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, AD, or BSN).
  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • CPR-BLS
  • ACLS (required before completion of orientation)
  • TNCC (within 18 months of hire)
  • ENPC and/or PALS (before completion of orientation)
  • NIHSS (required before completion of orientation)
  • Experience: Open to new graduates and experienced nurses in emergency, trauma, or critical care settings.
  • Skills:
  • Self-Initiative: Ability to contribute actively to emergency department flow and throughput.
  • Sense of Urgency: Respond to high-pressure situations swiftly and effectively.
  • Adaptability: Be able to adjust care delivery in response to rapidly changing patient needs.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and uphold hospital decorum at all times.
