Description of Work
The Educational Developmental Assistant (EDA) serves as a lead trainer in theKnowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $26,851.00 – $46,991.00
Recruitment Range: $31,200.00 – $46,991.00

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs )/Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Considerable knowledge of fundamental principles, verbal and written instructions; instructional techniques/methodologies; data collection systems, and methods of habilitation. Knowledge of practical application of behavioral programming techniques;
Ability to work independently with minimal directives. Ability to problem solve and communicate effectively with other staff. Ability to evaluate client progress.
Ability to instruct; to establish rapport and relate to population served, their families and variety of service disciplines (occupational therapist, speech/language pathologist, dieticians, social workers, psychologist, nurses, medical professionals and home managers).
Ability to learn and follow OSHA and/or sanitation/safety guidelines. Communicate effectively in oral and written form. Basic knowledge of food preparation and handling.
Management Preference: High school diploma. Two years minimum experience providing direct services to people with developmental disabilities in health care or a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Other: Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Fingering, Grasping, Feeling, Talking, Hearing, Repetitive Motions, Visual Acuity, & Inside and Outside Activities.
This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

Veteran’s and National Guard Preference
Applicants seeking Veteran's Preference must attach a DD-214 Member-4 Form (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) to their applications.
Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach an NGB 23A (RPAS), along with the state application if they are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing.
Applicants who are former member of either the NC Army National Guard or the NC Air National Guard, with honorable discharge and six years of creditable service, must attach a copy of the DD 256 or NGB 22, along with the state application.
