Editorial and Operations Manager

Watchup brings the power of video journalism to the emerging screens. Our Apple-featured iPad app lets you easily watch your daily newscast out of the world's most trusted news channels. Watchup was accelerated at StartX, the Stanford startup accelerator and was the only and one company to be a finalist at SXSW's Accelerator and Interactive Awards. 

This is the first non technical/design job in a small fast-growing and extremely detail-oriented team. It’s your chance to be an active part of an angel-backed game-changing startup that is reinventing the way people learn what’s happening in the world on the emerging screens.

Your goal is to support the team and help the product get to the next stage in terms of content, marketing and operations. It’s a multi-facet job — and a rewarding and learning experience.

Responsibilities

  Content acquisition: manage and expand a growing selection of news channels

  Product Testing: testing new features, finding bugs, offer feedback on UI/UX

  
  


• 
  

  Office Management & operations: coordinate the daily operations of a dynamic startup

  
  

• 
  

  Design thinking: interact with users to better understand their needs

  
  


• 
  

  Social Media: improve Watchup's "voice" on social media

  
  


• 
  

  Marketing: run user acquisition campaigns and measure user engagement and analytics

  
  

Requirements

  Good knowledge of the news industry and/or the app ecosystem.

  Very well organized, focused and result-driven with one goal: absolute excellence

  Digital savvy. Good usage of Excel, Keynote, Photoshop and social media a plus.

  Excellent English writing skills. Additional French, Italian or Chinese a plus.
